The Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC)

The Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC) is an annual public health conference hosted by Public Health Ontario (PHO), the Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA) and the Association of Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa). It features a combination of plenary speakers, breakout sessions coordinated within different educational pathways, networking opportunities, posters and an exhibition.

TOPHC is hosting two virtual spring workshops! Plug into engaging speakers through this interactive event including networking and rich, relevant content that will strengthen our post-pandemic delivery of public health services in Ontario.

TOPHC is excited to partner with the Canadian Institute for Health Information to deliver our April 13, 2022 workshop: Using the Canadian Institute for Health Information’s Measuring Health Inequalities Toolkit to Advance Health Equity. This workshop will explore the different phases of the Toolkit to support public health professionals with measuring and reporting on health inequalities, with a focus on stratifying health indicators.

TOPHC welcomes Dr. Claire Betker, Scientific Director, National Collaborating Centre for Determinants of Health and Margaret Haworth Brockman, Senior Program Manager, National Collaborating Centre for Infectious Diseases to facilitate our May 4, 2022 workshop: Measuring What Counts in the Midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic: A tool for equity. This workshop will provide an introduction to an interactive tool for measuring progress toward integrating health equity considerations in public health emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.
